If you and your group chat have been talking about planning a little girls’ getaway but haven’t actually planned it… let this be your sign. We just got back from the dreamiest weekend in Prince Edward County, and it gave everything it needed to. Relaxing, cute, full of good food and drinks, and just far enough from the city to feel like a true break from real life.
We stayed at The June Motel (yes, the one from Motel Makeover on Netflix) and it totally set the tone for the trip. Retro rooms, pink doors, a campfire courtyard where we ended every night roasting s’mores and recapping the day. 10/10 vibes — just don’t forget bug spray, the mosquitos were definitely not on vacation.
Here’s what we did, saw, sipped, and snacked on during our time in PEC. Save this for when you finally lock in that weekend.

What to See & Do
Dunes Beach (Sandbanks Provincial Park)
We spent about half a day here and it was such a win. Wide, soft sand and huge dunes that make it feel way more tropical than you’d expect. The water was cold (like, Canadian summer cold) but still super refreshing if you’re brave enough to get in. Either way, it’s a beautiful place to lay out, catch up, and unplug.
Wellington Rotary Beach
This one’s a bit more lowkey and right off of Wellington Main Street. It has clear water and a chill, locals-only vibe — but fair warning: when we went, there were a few little dead fishies washed up on the shore. Still worth stopping by if you’re nearby!
Picton Main Street
Cute shops, coffee, ice cream, and the kind of small-town charm that makes you want to buy a straw hat and pretend you’re in a Nancy Meyers movie. We wandered, window-shopped, and lowkey pretended we lived there.
Crimson Cidery
If you do one thing, go here. The slushie cider flights were a group fave — fun, tasty, and way too easy to sip. Great patio, and such a good daytime stop if you’re into drinks that look and feel like summer in a glass.
Parsons Brewery
Another great spot to chill. We grabbed drinks, found a picnic table outside, and just hung out. Nothing fancy — just easy, cozy, and a great way to break up the day.
Lakeside Motel
We didn’t stay here, but we did pop in for dinner one night. The lakeside view? Stunning. We heard mixed reviews about the food, but everything we had was great — and honestly, even if it hadn’t been, the view made it all worth it.

Where to Eat
Base 31 Food Trucks
Super casual, super convenient, and great if you’re with a group. Everyone can get what they’re craving, and the surrounding art installations make it feel like a mini adventure. Bonus points for the super cute (and clean) bathrooms!
Bocado
We went here for our “fancy-ish” dinner and loved it. It’s one of those menus where you want to try everything, so definitely go family-style.
The Vic Social
Think retro diner with a modern twist. We went for breakfast and sat on the terrace outside. Great playlist, cute interior, and very hangover-friendly.
Harry’s Charbroiled
Perfect for a quick, satisfying bite. We stopped here for smash burgers after the beach and they hit the spot. No fuss, just good food — ideal if you need something casual between wineries or after a beach day.
Slickers Ice Cream
You have to stop here if you have a sweet tooth. We went for the apple pie flavour and it was hands down the group favourite. Chunks of actual pie in creamy, local ice cream? Say less.
Lakeside Motel (yes, again)
If you’re looking for a spot to sip a drink and watch the sun go down, this is it. Whether you eat here or not, the lakeside setting is kind of magical.

Prince Edward County is the perfect mix of relaxed and aesthetic. It’s the kind of trip that doesn’t need to be overplanned — just pack a few cute outfits, make some dinner reservations, and go with the flow.
If you’re in your mid-20s and craving something chill, beautiful, and just a little indulgent, PEC is 100% worth the hype. Already dreaming about the next girls’ trip.
Love, Laura
