I’ve always found inspiration from monthly favorites videos on YouTube. There’s something so comforting about watching people share the little things that brought them joy each month, whether it’s new products they discovered, seasonal activities, or simple routines they look forward to every day. Seeing others take pleasure in the small things has always motivated me to slow down and appreciate the little joys in my own life. So, as October came to an end, I decided it was the perfect time to create my own monthly favorites list—filled with the cozy comforts, self-care essentials, and autumn traditions that made this month so memorable.
Between reconnecting with old habits, finding new skincare staples, and soaking up the last of the fall colors, this month was all about enjoying each day as it came. From the comfort of home to trips up north to see the leaves, here’s everything that made October truly special for me. I hope sharing these favorites brings you a bit of inspiration as well!

Fall Leaves
October blessed us with such beautiful fall foliage this year! Watching the trees turn into a sea of reds, oranges, and yellows is something I wait all year to see. It felt far too brief, though, and now that the trees are bare again, I already miss the cozy vibe that fall leaves bring.
Journaling
This month, I really committed to journaling. It’s one of those things that can be hard to get into, but once you start, it feels so rewarding. Even jotting down a few thoughts each day has helped me stay grounded and process everything going on. If you’ve ever wanted to start journaling, don’t stress about making it perfect—just get your thoughts on paper, even if it’s only a line or two.
Hypochlorous Acid Spray
I recently discovered hypochlorous acid spray, and it’s been a skin-saver—especially post-workout! Hypochlorous acid is naturally antibacterial, soothing, and gentle, which makes it perfect for spritzing on after I’ve worked up a sweat. It helps keep my skin clear and refreshed, and it’s a quick way to feel clean when I don’t have time for a full skincare routine after the gym.
Baking Fall Desserts
October is prime baking season, and I’ve been fully embracing it with all the warm, cozy treats! There’s nothing like the smell of apple pie or zucchini bread filling up the kitchen. I love experimenting with seasonal ingredients, and baking these fall classics has been the perfect way to wind down on chilly weekends. Plus, the end result? Delicious.
Merci La Vie Bakery
One of my go-to stops after a road trip to see the fall leaves is Merci La Vie Bakery in Piedmont. It’s a charming spot with some of the most delicious pastries, perfect for warming up after a day spent outdoors. Their treats are the ultimate cozy indulgence, and visiting this little bakery has become a classic part of my fall traditions up north. A hot coffee and pastry from Merci La Vie is exactly what I need after taking in the autumn views.
Reading Before Bed
I’ve always loved reading before bed, but somewhere along the way, I let the habit slide. This October, I made an effort to bring it back, and it’s been one of the best decisions. Ending the day with a good book helps me unwind and keeps my mind off screens before sleep.
Viral Amazon Criss Cross Chair
Working from home just got an upgrade thanks to the viral Amazon criss-cross chair! This chair has been all over social media, and I finally caved. It’s been such a game changer for my workspace—super comfortable and stylish. It makes those long workdays a little more comfortable and has quickly become one of my WFH must-haves.
This October was filled with moments of warmth, relaxation, and seasonal rituals that made each day feel a bit more special. Whether it was a road trip to see the fall leaves, trying out new self-care habits, or cozying up with baked treats and a good book, these small pleasures brought comfort and joy. As we move into November, I’m excited to carry this cozy energy forward and see what new favorites the season will bring.
What was one of your October favourites?
Love, Laura
